A practical initiative that helps individuals and families understand, practise and experience Sanātana Dharma as a way of life.
Sanātana Dharma is not something to be studied and left on a shelf. Its wisdom finds meaning when it enters daily life — through devotional practice (Upāsanā), meditation and contemplation (Dhyāna), knowledge and self-enquiry (Jñāna), disciplined spiritual practice (Sādhanā), service (Seva) and spiritual fellowship (Satsaṅga).
Our aim is to make these traditions accessible and practicable in contemporary life, while keeping them rooted in their authentic spiritual foundations.
At the heart of Vedamantra is the vision of Advaita Vedānta as expounded by Śrī Ādi Śaṅkarācārya: the journey from outward experience towards inner understanding, from difference towards unity, and finally towards knowledge of the Self.
The goal is not simply to know, but to practise, experience and transform.
We encourage regular practice through chanting, pūjā, pārāyaṇa and traditional worship, and offer resources and guidance for Śrī Rudram, Sundarakāṇḍa pārāyaṇa, stotras, mantra and other forms of personal and collective sādhanā.
Meditation is the movement from outward activity towards inner awareness and, ultimately, Self-knowledge. Vedamantra connects seekers with the tradition established by Dr. Satyanarayana Chillapa (Swamiji) through the Institute of Universal Self Consciousness Movement (IUSCM). Through its network of experienced preceptors, seekers receive personal guidance in building a regular practice — approached not as a technique alone, but as sādhanā and gradual inner transformation. Through the Vedas, Upaniṣads, Itihāsas, the teachings of Ādi Śaṅkara and the wider tradition, we encourage enquiry and understanding — so that knowledge illuminates the way we live.
Practice deepens contemplation.
Contemplation prepares the mind for knowledge.
Knowledge transforms the way we see life.
Vedamantra provides guidance, resources and opportunities for personal sādhanā, and creates spaces where practice becomes a shared experience. Our Global Chanting Community brings participants together for collective chanting, pārāyaṇa and observances — connected across geography by a common practice. Closer to home, we help people build Satsaṅga where they live.
Communities in which spiritual practice strengthens, rather than separates us from, everyday life — where families gather, generations learn from one another, traditions are celebrated, and individuals find both belonging and a deeper understanding of themselves.
To make the wisdom of Sanātana Dharma a living part of everyday life: supporting people in Upāsanā, Dhyāna, Jñāna and Sādhanā; nurturing Satsaṅga and local spiritual leadership; strengthening values and belonging; and creating opportunities to learn, practise, serve and celebrate life together.
